Keeping Our Church Members and Volunteers Active

Church Ministries

At FNCF in Los Angeles, California, one of our primary purposes is ministry. For this reason, we have established various programs for our congregants to join. Read more about our different organizations below.

Food Distribution Ministry

Feed those in need by volunteering with our church. Our ministry distributes nonperishable foods to people throughout our community who are low on resources. We hand out these items every Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Our volunteers also give out meats and vegetables. These perishable foods are distributed based on their availability.

To ensure kids and adults are able to get the food they need, our ministry works with the 211 LA County Emergency Food Network. This organization allows individuals to call Monday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for assistance.

Music Ministry

Help us enhance our services and events by joining our music ministry. This creative group meets every Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. Under the leadership of Richard Turner (our minister of music), our ministry provides worship music and arts for our church. It also includes representatives from the:

  • FNCF Mass Choir
  • The Ensemble
  • The Robert Wesley Children's Choir
  • The Male Chorus

Children and Youth Ministry

If you want to help your child build a lifelong relationship with God, allow them to participate in our children and youth ministry. This group is open to kids ages 5 to 12. When your son or daughter becomes a part of this ministry, they'll receive spiritual guidance from our youth pastor and volunteers. We encourage anyone who loves children to volunteer with our boys and girls.

Multimedia Ministry

Led by Minister Roy Brown, the multimedia ministry provides sound engineering for all of our worship services and special events. This group is also in charge of creating CDs and DVDs for our church.

Liturgical Arts Ministry

Spread the good news of the Lord and Savior by joining our liturgical arts ministry. Led by Sister Damita Ford, this organization introduces people in our community to theater arts. Our ministry meets during productions only.

Rapid Rehousing Homeless Project

Work with us to help people transition from being homeless. Our project provides the less fortunate shelter in various housing facilities. If you own or know anyone who owns a building that can be donated to our cause, we'd like to hear from you. We accept real estate of any kind.

Women of the Word (WOW)

WOW's agenda includes helping women praise and worship God and grow spiritually. Directed by Sisters Linda Anderson and Ethel Simpson, the ministry also hosts scripture showers to assist ladies of all ages with selecting scriptures to expound upon. Our ministry leaders work with women in our church every 4th Saturday to discuss the meanings of different passages from the Bible.

Community Youth Choir

We love haring the children in our congregation make a joyful noise. Our community youth choir performs every 3rd Sunday at 11:00 a.m. It is comprised of boys and girls from our church and the Children's Defense Fund-California's Freedom Schools program.
